Hi, neighbor! Have a ‘Gansett!

And what better ‘Gansett to have in this cold weather than a deep, dark, rich, smoky, chocolatey porter? Well, none. Until they make one that comes with some glove warmers, of course. I think we might be onto something. Beer for cold weather – cool inside but the outside is heat-activated so your hands stay warm as you’re drinking it. Someone set us up the Kickstarter!

Day three of You might be a New Englander (tell me if this is getting old – I might have used up all my funny in the last two days). If you’ve ever actually given a tollbooth collector in Worcester $1.25, you might be a New Englander (I mean, if you even know how to say Worcester, you’re definitely a New Englander). If you’ve ever gone apple picking on field trips every year from second grade on, you might be a New Englander. If you’ve ever been understanding, but at the same time, mildly displeased when someone refers to you as a Yankee, you might be a New Englander. If you tell people that you’ve “been to that place” when you watch Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Good Will Hunting (and you still question why they cast such a hottie as a Harvard chick), you might be a New Englander. And of course, if you’ve ever had a ‘Gansett, you might be a New Englander.

Did you know that Narragansett is now in NYC? The cans hit the street last week. Seriously. Here’s proof! You can find Narragansett Porter wherever women are jealous of Gisele Bündchen.

Oh, and you know I rocked that umlaut! Why doesn’t the word umlaut have an umlaut over any of the letters? It boggles the mind.

Just The Facts

Appearance: Pours a deep, rich brown, almost black with a creamy, pale brown head
Smell: Smoky, Coffee aromas
Taste: Strong chocolate, light bitterness
Mouthfeel: FULL bodied, a tad sweet, not extremely bitter
Drinkability: Smooth but heavy – the ABV isn’t too high, but it’s going to be tough to drink more than three of these
