This is Shipyard’s flagship beer. The export was always a staple at holiday parties when I was growing up. In Maine, it’s more common to see at an event than Heineken. I don’t know the exact numbers, but I’d be willing to bet that Shipyard Export is the biggest Maine Beer by bottling.

I’ll bet it goes:

1) Shipyard Export
2) Shipyard IPA
3) Allagash White

Allagsh White is profiled tomorrow! Does anyone have data on this or know how to get this information? I’ll bet they have to register with the state or the ATF somewhere.

Last night I went to Ger-Nis for a Pretzels and Beer Cooking Class (drinking beer, making pretzels) and Ben from Bierkraft was there… This guy has some amazing beer knowledge! I was completely floored by the way he was rattling off information about the types and history of beer. We stopped by the place later and I loved it. I’m not getting paid to say that I loved Bierkraft, so if you’re interested in Great Beer, you can get it there!

If you’re interested in a taste of Maine, I’m not really going out on a limb by saying that nothing says Maine like a Shipyard! Try it with Lobstah!
