What’s your favorite song with “funk” in it. Parliament’s “Give Up The Funk?” Lipps Inc’s “Funkytown?” Daft Punk’s “Da Funk?” Sagat’s “Funk Dat?” Damn, there are some great songs with Funk in the title. I love all of these. voting in the comments section for any that I missed?
Uh oh… looks like I got a bit partial to the Funk in this one. Sorry everyone, my bad. This was our second to last beer of the day, so I have an excuse. I won’t have an excuse for when I build a tolerance up to the point that I’m not drunk after drinking half of fourteen high-alcohol beers I don’t know when I’m going to get to that point, but it sure is slow going when you only drink in spurts.
Have I talked about how I don’t really get to enjoy these beers? A lot of times, the first time I’m trying these beers is on camera. Sometimes, I get to have a bit of the beer when I’m shooting the beer-porny shots beforehand, but I don’t get to just sit and relax with nothing to do enjoying the beer. I’m looking at the other Funkwerks Saison in my room right now, just waiting to be drank. Unfortunately, it needs to be drank at the Beer Blogger’s Brunch, which I haven’t yet scheduled, but should be coming up very soon.
I should really tell you about Sasions, huh? Saison means “Season” in French. They were originally brewed in the winter for farmers to drink during the harvest season, but now one of the most popular saisons uses yeast that ferments better in very warm temperatures. They used to have very low ABVs, because they were given to workers in place of water (which might have been contaminated) for refreshment during the summer days of farming. The workers were “Entitled” five liters of beer per day. It sounds like the dot com boom, where everyone in tech startups got free food every day, but free beer is a lot better deal. Why aren’t those unions doing something worthwhile and arguing for beer! I want my entitled liters!
